New day, new sip

Intense notes of tobacco, black pepper, dark chocolate, malt and barrique: the coffee grown by the Ramírez family in the Jarabacoa mountains 800 to 1,500 meters above sea level is smoky, racy and intense. This makes it a real insider tip from the heart of the Dominican Republic. Anyone who likes to take their taste buds on a trip around the world should get to know this one hundred percent single-estate Arabica. An additional plus: the coffee comes from organic and fair cultivation.

Challenge

As a highlight of its two capsule coffee ranges, Delizio and Cremesso, the Swiss coffee roasting company Delica AG presents a limited edition in a class of its own every year under the label “World’s Finest Coffees”: genuine gourmet beans of selected provenance that meet the very highest quality standards and send your tongue on a journey. But how can we convince from the food retail shelf? The aim was to translate the unmistakable personality of the product and the characteristics of its country of origin into an expressive packaging design.

Solution

After intensive tasting of the first sample capsules and background research into the culture and history of the country of origin, we translated the rustic aroma of the coffee into a smoky, earthy artwork for the packaging design of “World’s Finest Coffees No. 6 Dominican Republic Jarabacoa”. Unlike our more academic designs of recent years, this packaging design appeals directly to the taste buds. In addition, finishes ranging from gold foil and blind embossing to spot colors and partial varnishing underline the premium quality of the product. Mjam.
